Naraka: Bladepoint Update Brings Terrifying New Showdown Boss And More

PvE fans rejoice, for a new Naraka: Bladepoint update is adding extra Showdown campaign content later today. The update will bring a brand new chapter of the story mode, one in which you’ll come face to face with the Matron of Yushan atop the ruins of the new Gelid Yushan level.

Naraka: Bladepoint‘s campaign mode was originally added to the game back in August last year, adding new gameplay options for those who’d rather team up against a common foe than battle each other. Now, a new update is adding another formidable boss to take on with your friends in the form of the Matron of Yushan.

To mark the update’s announcement, Naraka: Bladepoint developer 24 Entertainment has also released a new installment of its ongoing Crimson and Winter animated series. The new episode depicts a battle between Viper and the Matron, and it’s chock-full of the graceful, fluid animation you’ve come to expect from the shorts. Here it is in all its glory.

A new hero is also joining the fray in this update. Tianhai is a monk who transforms into a massive warrior to smite his enemies. He has the ability to Counter after he’s transformed, and 24 Entertainment says that Tianhai’s Counterstrike combo will also be enhanced if you equip the appropriate Souljade.

You can also look forward to a new mode, Enigma Domain, in this Naraka: Bladepoint update. The new mode pits you against monsters that grow stronger over time, but you’ll get more rewards based on how many of them you slay. There are lots of Souljades up for grabs, so make sure you spend a little time here if you want to augment your arsenal.

Of course, there are plenty of other changes being made in this update, including myriad adjustments to hero stats and skills. Make sure to check out the full Naraka: Bladepoint patch notes if you want to know everything that’s new. The game’s servers will go down from 6pm until 10pm Eastern tonight, after which point you’ll be able to download the update and jump into the fray.
